Why bigmamma?
Our climate is changing, and more and more sustainable initiatives arise around the world. The youth sustainability movement is fragmented. Initiatives, people and knowledge are spread all over the world. This results in double projects, organizations are reinventing wheels, and it is difficult to see what market needs are.
SIFE VU’s solution:
Bigmamma provides one central place, an innovative interactive internet platform, for passionate entrepreneurial-minded young people in the fields of sustainability, climate change and environment.
Goals:
- Create an online overview of global youth initiatives
- Structural visibility and accessibility of these initiatives at one central place
- Helping young people optimally co-creating a sustainable planet.

Greenerversity
Why Greenerversity?
The university should be a place that showcases knowledge and should take a lead in society. By showing what sustainability means in a practical way the university can lead by example. SIFE VU tries to build a coalition and want to show how business and sustainability can meet each other in our own surrounding. It might be a bit old school to say that a better world starts at home, but it true non the less.
Goals:
- Connect people and organizations within the university that believe in a sustainable practices.
- Come up with actions to promote sustainability
- Embed sustainability in the organizational culture
StudentCASE
Why StudentCASE?
Before StudentCASE, there was no central network aiming to stimulate and provide structural events for entrepreneurial students and to develop as successful entrepreneurs, those students continuously need knowledge, success skills, support, inspiration, and networks.
SIFE VU’s Solution:
StudentCASE is the inspirational network for student entrepreneurs. We provide a structural, central place that is accessible for students from all studies in Amsterdam where we connect existing entrepreneurs’ knowledge & networks with the needs of students. There is a great deal this central place can offer the coming years, but at the basis we inspire, stimulate and support student entrepreneurship.
Goal:
- To be the central place in Amsterdam for student entrepreneurship
Zimbabwe Project
Why Four Leaf Clover?
HIV positive people are highly stigmatised, and even more so among the widowed women. They are unwell do not have sufficient financial support to look after themselves and their families.
SIFE VU’s Solution:
Provide the women with entrepreneurial skills, to start their own small business and therefore look after themselves and their children.
Sustaining Surinam
Launch of a sustainable garbage disposal company for collection, processing, separation and recycling of waste. It will be launched with a pilot project in the area where Sandino Grew up. If it's succesful we want to extend the project to the rest of Paramaribo and Surinam. Important here is the role of the Surinamese government. The environmental consciousness of the population also needs to be increased. This can be done through public campaigns and in all ways to publicize this project. It is essential that residents are aware that change must come.
For the realization of this project we will be working with several Surinamese and Dutch partners like the Samarja Foundation and White Beach.
Goals:
- Making Surinamese people more aware of the environment
- Reducing waste and gases released by this waste.
- Selling of the wast
- Economic advantage for Surinam and the Netherlands
- Promotion of sustainable business in Surinam
- Recycling of waste in Surinam itself
